Oregon . . . Let’s Roll
To the people of the state of Oregon,
My fellow citizens, as you’re aware, the current political leadership has been unable or unwilling to solve our serious financial problems. This threatens to destroy our domestic tranquility and your American Dream. Armed with only band-aid solutions that please special interests, elected officials have actually aggravated the problems. This political mismanagement may trigger another financial meltdown called a “double-dip-recession.” The costs of these endless exercises are being passed on to you – the already overtaxed taxpayer.
Time and experience show that free societies erode internally because political leaders fail to represent the best interests of the people. Instead they become the hired hands for special interests. We are told that all these special agendas serve our greater good. This is nonsense! We are in grave danger of losing our freedoms and our American way of life because of lobbies that cater to our representatives. Who lobbies for you? The government bailout of the banking industry with your TARP dollars and the recent passage of the national health care bill are clear examples and a wake up call.
Sadly, financial suffering has now impacted most Americans; rich, middle class and poor, one way or another. These have become different and strange times for most of us. Poor representation is why Americans don’t trust their government today. Higher taxes, bigger government, extremely high unemployment, high foreclosure rates, lower real incomes, degradation of family values, corruption of education, more crime and poverty, debasement of our money, the rise of a credit society, and lastly our staggering state and national debt; these are all the consequences of our elected officials failing at their jobs.
Ask yourself this question: “what is my state government doing to turn around the economy and create new jobs?” The answer is nothing! Bigger government and higher taxes at both the national and state levels will cause more job losses and deepen the crisis in all states. Now more than anytime in recent history we need decisive actions by real leaders looking out for the good of all the people.
Today Oregon needs visionary leadership to take back our freedoms, create opportunities, forge an economic turnaround, and transform Oregon into the top entrepreneurial state in the nation.
I know how to accomplish this. That is why I want to be your Governor.
